Arts Learning Resources for Teaching Artists

The Arizona Commission on the Arts strives to provide programs and funding for teaching artists to develop their craft, content, and network with other teaching artists and organizations.

Grants

As a teaching artist, several types of grants are available for you to apply for to present community based or education based residencies, attend professional development workshops and conferences outside of Arizona, and funding for individual artist projects.

ACA has annual and year-round funding opportunities that provide schools and out of school organizations to work with teaching artists.  If you are interested in connecting with schools on presenting education-based residencies, download the District Arts Coordinator List.

Professional Development Grants are available year round for teaching artists to attend out of state professional development workshops and conferences.

Residency Roster

The Residency Roster is a juried list of professional Arizona artists/companies in artistic disciplines that work in schools and communities throughout the state.  Constituents searching for a teaching artist are able to search the Residency Roster by discipline, artist or company name and through a criteria search.

Residency Roster Artists are offered several opportunities throughout the year.  Roster Artists may attend The Southwest Arts Conference sponsored by the Commission at a discounted rate, at the end of the day Roster Artists display and market their work at Connections Cafe to those who attend the Southwest Arts Conference.  The Café is held in the afternoon and open to teachers, administrators, district arts coordinators who are interested in working with teaching artists.

The Residency Roster is currently undergoing a revision process.  The Commission plans to open up the audition process in late summer of 2008.  If you would like more information on current Roster Artist Policies, please CLICK HERE.
