Beverly Duzik is a well-respected development professional with 24 years of non-profit experience in Arizona.

She is currently Director of Development for Desert Botanical Garden. Since joining the Garden in September 2000, Beverly closed the final $1M gifts for the $17M Growing a Legacy for Generations capital campaign; she recruited significant community support for the Grand Opening series which introduced the new facilities to the Garden’s donors and the community; she has helped the Garden secure significant marketing resources to increase attendance; and the Garden’s membership has grown more than 25% during her tenure.

From 1996-99 Beverly held the position of Director of Major Gifts for American Cancer Society, Southwest Division. She developed two new leadership volunteer groups credited with generating more than $950,000 in a two-year period. These programs have become models for the Society’s metropolitan chapters nationwide.

During her tenure as Executive Director for the Phoenix Boys Choir (1984-96), Beverly helped the Choir fund and purchase a rehearsal and administrative facility; establish an endowment; refine board and volunteer systems; institute annual subscription, donor and fundraising programs; and quadruple annual operating revenues to support the Choir’s artistic growth. In her early career, she managed educational and outreach programs for The Phoenix Symphony, administered an arts-in-the schools program for PACT, and interned with the North Carolina Arts Council.

An Arizona Commission on the Arts Peer Consultant since the program’s inception in 1991, Beverly has facilitated Board Retreats for more than seventeen Arizona arts organizations. She holds a B.A. degree in music with honors from Converse College, S.C. She came to Arizona in 1977 as a humanities teaching assistant at Arizona State University.
