An independent consultant, Dale Erquiaga specializes in group facilitation, strategic planning, brand development and organizational change.  He was formerly a vice president with R&R Partners, the agency behind Las Vegas’ “What happens here, stays here” campaign.  He also worked for a real estate developer, The Howard Hughes Corporation, marketing one of America’s most successful master-planned communities.  Dale’s experience in government includes a stint as director of Nevada’s Department of Cultural Affairs and service as Nevada’s chief deputy secretary of state.

In 1996, Dale joined a United Nations delegation that supervised the first post-war elections in Bosnia-Herzegovina.  His non-profit employment history includes the Sierra Nevada Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants.  In 1985, he was appointed by President Ronald Reagan to the public affairs staff of the White House Conference on Small Business.

Ask anyone about Dale’s skill set and they will point to his ability to frame an issue through research and analysis, create group consensus around a central idea, and write strategic plans that are easy to understand and ready for implementation.  Much of his consulting work focuses on education, arts and humanities clients.

Long active in the arts, Dale is vice chairman of the Western States Arts Federation, a board member of Arizona Citizens for the Arts, and vice president of Arizona Action for the Arts (an advocacy organization).  He is a former chairman of the Las Vegas Arts Commission and is currently a member of the advisory group building a museum of organized crime in the historic Las Vegas federal court house and post office.  Dale is also a member of the advisory board of the Project for Arizona’s Future, a progressive political action organization.  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Nevada-Reno, and has edited the Political History of Nevada, 10th Edition, and the memoirs of former Nevada Congresswoman Barbara Vucanovich.  His essays have appeared in the Nevada Historical Quarterly and the Online Nevada Encyclopedia.
