Debra Wiener has been committed to the nonprofit sector for over 25 years. Much of her management and fundraising experience has been in the arts in Ohio, with nonprofits such as The Tom Evert Dance Company, the Repertory Project, ESTEEM, INC. (her own nonprofit providing arts programs for the homeless and at-risk youth), Cleveland Signstage Theatre, Cleveland Public Theatre, Shore Cultural Centre and many others.  In Arizona, her first client is the Arizona Art Alliance with whom she facilitated a strategic plan and currently assists with grantwriting.  She was a panelist in March 2007 with the Phoenix Commission on the Arts. 

Debra holds a Master’s of Nonprofit Organizations (MNO) from the Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations at Case Western Reserve University, a Master’s in Interdisciplinary Humanities and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre.  She was also a licensed social worker and Certified Prevention of Substance Abuse Consultant in Ohio, integrating her love of the arts and compassion for underserved populations by creating interdisciplinary programs combining arts, education and social services.

Debra has worked with many nonprofits to increase their fundraising capacity.  She has an in-depth knowledge of local and national funders in the arts, education, humanities and human services, and brings with her excellent relationship-building and partnership building skills.  She has “hit the ground running” with networking in Arizona since she arrived in August 2006, and she hopes to help build the fundraising capacity of many arts organizations in Arizona.   Debra brings her skills, experience and passion for the arts to help strengthen the nonprofit sector in Arizona.
