These grants are designed to connect Arizona’s nonprofit arts organizations and PreK – 12 schools with professionals in the field. The Commission maintains a Consultant Services Roster, a listing of trained consultants with wide-ranging specialties, who can assist with maintaining a healthy organization or coping with a crisis. Primarily meant for small and mid-sized arts organizations, preference is given to rural, ethnic and underserved communities. Applicants must make a compelling case as to why the self-identified consultancy is necessary and how the consultancy will have a substantial impact on the organization, company, school and/or community. Applications for these grants are accepted between July 1 and May 1 annually, or until all grant funds are expended – which may occur before May 1, depending on the number of applications received. Grants are based on a fiscal year calendar (July 1 through June 30 of the following year) and proposed activities must take place within this timeframe. Requests must be submitted at least 6 weeks in advance of an activity. Applications will be reviewed no earlier than 8 weeks, and no later than 6 weeks, prior to an activity or opportunity.
