A Hair-Brained Idea for the Arts

November has arrived. And, in honor of the fall, the arts and all manly traditions, the men of the Arizona Commission on the Arts have decided to participate in the time-honored tradition of No-Shave-November – also known as Noshember or Movember.

From November 1st through November 30th, the men of the Arts Commission have agreed to not shave their faces. They will grow their beards for thirty contiguous days and will resist the urge to shave, trim and tame their otherwise unruly facial hair…all in the name of arts programs for Arizonans.

These men have put their faces on the line. For the arts.

How can you be a part of this hair-brained event?

Let us tell you.

You can show your support for the arts and thirty days of bearded arts men by contributing $0.50, $1.00, $3.00, or more to the Arizona ArtShare* fund, for each of the 30 days that the men don’t shave.

Consider showing your support in one of the following ways:

Five o’clock Shadow for the Arts:          $15 for the Month ($.50 per day)

Moustache for the Arts:                             $30 for the Month ($1.00 per day)

One Beard for the Arts:                              $90 for the Month ($3 per day)

3 Beards for the Arts:                                 $150 for the Month ($5 per day)

Barbershop Quartet:                                  $250+

The Barber of Seville:                                 $500+

Demon Barber of Fleet Street:                $1,000+

To make your contribution now, click on the moustache above or click here.

Or, participate in the fun in support of the arts by submitting your own No-Shave photos to the Arts Commission, at info@azarts.gov. Submissions will be posted to the Arts Commission’s facebook page. Contributors (to ArtShare* or of images of beards for the cause) will be highlighted on our facebook page, weekly.

Please join us in celebrating the arts through the art of not shaving by contributing to Arizona ArtShare*. Follow the bearded progress throughout the month on the Arts Commission’s facebook page.
