To support a safe and respectful virtual space, we drafted preliminary community agreements.
Participants and facilitators alike are asked to:
- Listen to understand.
- Ask before assuming.
- Share “airtime.”
- Mute mics when not speaking.
- Use inclusive language, avoiding ableist and other harmful language regarding race, class, and gender.
- Respect gender identities.
- Refrain from recording or taking screenshots without consent.
- Be patient with session technology.
Facilitators ask your permission to:
- Gently interrupt, to ensure all voices are heard and we stay on time.
- Ask clarifying questions.
- Allow space for silence, acknowledging that people process information in different ways.
