A variety of services and convenings provided by the Arts Commission in
areas such as advocacy, accessibility, understanding
participation and more. Links to services such as the Residency Roster
and Peer Consultants Roster. Convenings include the
annual Southwest Arts Conference, Arizona Arts Congress,
Governor's Arts Awards and other statewide workshops and
meetings.
Accessibility
The Arts Commission's statement and compliance to the ADA, as well as links to
resources about accessible facility requirements and programming, accessibility
services, ARTability, accessibility tips and grievance procedures on how to
report an inaccessible event or facility.
Advocacy News and
updates about the current Arizona State budget, as well as links to local,
national and arts learning advocacy resources.
Arizona Arts Congress is an annual event
held at the Arizona State Capitol. The value and impact of
public funding for the arts and arts policy are discussed
and debated between legislators and arts advocates. As a
key part of the democratic process, the Arizona Arts
Congress connects the role of state funding with arts
programs in schools and communities throughout the state.

Arizona ArtShare The Arizona Arts Endowment
Fund was created in 1996 by the Arizona State Legislature and the Governor. This
cultural trust fund advances the future of the arts in Arizona through both
public and private contributions and is a unique partnership to build a
foundation of long-term support for the arts in Arizona.

Arts Learning- Listings include
opportunities for educators and teachers to attend local and national
conferences, professional development, workshops and more.
Bulletin - The Arts Commission's quarterly
newsletter. The
Bulletin is printed four times per year. As a general rule, we do not list performances or
events; jobs and artist opportunities are listed on our website. Our
basic focus is on statewide and national arts news.

Consultant Services Program - Connects Arizona’s non-profit arts organizations
with peer professionals in the field
with specialties in areas such as organizational assessment, facilitation,
board development, planning, marketing, understanding participation, accessibility, arts education program
planning and assessment and more. Grants available for Consultant Services and
Community Cultural Inventories.
Governor's Arts Awards is an annual
celebration held each Spring, recognizing the
contributions of a corporation, individual supporter of
the arts, artist, community project and arts education
project. Sponsored by the
Governor's
Office; distinctive corporate sponsors;
Arizonan
Citizens for the Arts, the non-profit statewide
arts advocacy organization and
Arizona Commission on the
Arts. The next
Governor's Arts Awards is April 18, 2007.
Peer Consultants
Roster Provides affordable and accessible consulting
services to the state’s non-profit arts organizations and local arts agencies. Peer consultants are professionals who have expertise in
many areas, including board development, financial management, fund
raising, strategic/long-range planning, program development, marketing,
public relations, community outreach and more. Funding for services by a Peer Consultant are available throughout the
year through the Consultant Services Program.

Information Referral and Arts Resource
Center -
Information about information referral from Commission staff and the Arts
Resource Center, located at the Commission offices.

participation in the arts; referrals to consultants, arts professionals and
other resources; consultations for organizations
and individual artists in a wide variety of areas.

Understanding Participation
The Understanding Participation (UP) program is funded in part by the
Wallace Foundation and is part of their national
START
(State Arts Partnerships for Cultural Participation) initiative supporting
13 state arts agencies to explore new strategies to build participation in
the arts. The focus of UP is to explore and learn about arts participation
in our own state, and using this understanding to assist our constituent
artists, organizations and communities in their own efforts to build arts
participation.
