Quick Turnaround Grants
The Arizona Commission on the
Arts was pleased to receive and fund numerous Quick Turnaround Grant
applications in fiscal year 2008. Due to a high percentage of funded
applications, the Commission has reached the end of its Quick Turnaround Grant
funding for fiscal year 2008 (July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008).
Fiscal year 2009 (July 1, 2008 to
June 30, 2009) Quick Turnaround Grant Applications and Guidelines will be posted
online in May 2008. Applications for fiscal year 2009 Quick Turnaround Grants
will be processed starting July 7, 2008.
Arts Learning
Sudden Opportunity Grant - Available to Pre-K–12 Schools and after-school
programs in Arizona to provide funding for arts learning projects outside of
ACA’s annual grant cycle. Arts Learning Sudden
Opportunity Grants do not support artist in residence programs. If you are

grants or Step into Arts Learning.
Artist Career Advancement Grant -
Designed to assist practicing, professional and emerging Arizona-based artists
with specific professional development and skill building opportunities that
advance their work and careers. Professional Arizona artists may apply for up to $750 to help advance a specific
aspect of their career. 13 artists were served through this program in Spring
2005.
Consultant Services Program - Connects Arizona’s non-profit arts organizations
with peer professionals in the field
with specialties in areas such as organizational assessment, facilitation,
board development, planning, marketing, understanding participation, accessibility, arts education program
planning and assessment and more. Grants available for Consultant Services and
Community Cultural Inventories.
Planning and Development Grant
- Designed to bring a group of people together (guest artists, consultants,
etc.) to plan a new project or explore an opportunity. The funds awarded do not
have to result in a final artistic product, but may be used to begin the
thoughtful development of the project. Non-matching grants of up to $500.
Professional Development Grant
- Assists Arizona artists and representatives of, in general, small and
mid-sized Arizona arts organizations attend out-of-state
conferences/workshops/seminars/retreats that will
contribute to their professional growth. Subject to approval, Professional
Development Grants to artists or arts organizations are awarded up to $500. For
periods of extended study, grants may be up to $750. Over 50 artists are served
through this program each year.
Sudden Opportunity Grant
- Designed to allow community and arts organizations (primarily rural, ethnic
and other underserved communities) to provide arts resources and projects,
generally of a moderate scale, due to opportunities that arise within a short
timeframe. Grants of up to $1,000.
Step
into Arts Learning
- Designed to introduce
schools and communities
that have not
received funding assistance from ACA in the past 3 years, with particular
interest and support provided for rural and underserved student populations.
These grant dollars are structured
with
$1,200 for
a mini program and $2,000 for a full program to cover fees for guest artists to
present standards based artist in residence program, conduct professional
development for educators, present a community event
and funds for supplies and travel.
There is no cash match required of the applicant.
