Arizona Alliance for Arts Education Constituency: Arizona's parents, students, teachers, artists, school administrators, arts educators, community members, arts presenters, school boards, state education agencies. No. The Arizona Alliance for Arts Education is a member of the coalition for statewide non-profit organizations working in partnership with the Kennedy Center to support practices and partnerships which ensure that the arts are woven into the very fiber of American education. The AAAE builds collaborations between schools and cultural institutions to promote the arts as equal partners in the educational enterprise. Arizona ArtShare Constituency: Non-profit arts organizations; individual, corporate and foundation donors Membership required? No Arizona ArtShare is the state's arts endowment fund, created by the State Legislature and Governor in 1996 to advance and sustain the future of the arts in Arizona through perpetual endowments funded by public and private contributions. Arizona ArtShare currently distributes funds in all three of its target areas: 1) arts education (through Artist/Teacher Institutes and the Arizona Alliance for Arts Education), 2) stabilization training of mid-sized arts organizations; and 3) working capital reserves grants for large and mid-sized arts organizations. The program is administered by the Arizona Commission on the Arts. Arizona Dance Arts Alliance Constituency: Dance artists, educators, students, presenters and audiences Membership required? Yes Arizona Dance Arts Alliance is a non-profit dance service organization dedicated to serving Arizona's dance community. Since 1963 ADAA serves in a leadership capacity, as a networking forum and a provider of services. Membership includes dance companies, dance studios, schools and dance enthusiasts. Arizona Humanities Council Constituency: All of Arizona Membership required? No Arizona Humanities Council is the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Arizona Humanities Council provides grants and services to educational, cultural and community organizations for programs in the humanities, i.e., history, literature, philosophy, and art history and criticism. AHC also sponsors the Arizona Book Festival and is the coordinator for Motheread, a statewide literacy program. Arizona Music Educators Association, Inc. Constituency: Membership is open to those who are school music teachers, grades K through university, as well as others who have a vital interest in music education. Membership required? Yes The Arizona Music Educators Association was established in 1939 as a cooperative effort of music educators. It is an affiliate of MENC: The National Association of Music Education. Special interests in the Association are represented by four constituent organizations: The Arizona Band and Orchestra Directors Association (ABODA), The Choral Directors of Arizona (ChoDA), The Arizona Society of General Music (AZSGM) and the Arizona Collegiate Music Educators (ACME). There are a number of departments within the Association that are led by appointed leaders. The National Coalition for Music Education, which is an advocacy group, is represented locally by the Arizona Coalition of Music Education and Community Performance. Other departments include membership, Music in Our Schools Month, early childhood development, curriculum development, retired members, multicultural awareness, music technology, student composition and pubic relations. Arizona Theatre Alliance Constituency: The ATA serves theatre organizations, theatre artists, and theatre educators throughout the state of Arizona. Membership required? Membership is required, but most of our services are available to nonmembers for a slightly higher fee. Our primary purpose is to improve communication within the theatre community through the theatre calendar, four newsletters a year, a membership directory, e-mails, meetings, and eventually a website. Next, we provide educational and professional development opportunities for the theatre community on every level, which includes our annual statewide theatre conference. Council of Greater Constituency: Greater metropolitan Phoenix (Maricopa County) Membership required? No, however, art/cultural organizations must live in the greater metropolitan Phoenix area and possess a 501(c)(3) nonprofit designation. Business Volunteers for the Arts' mission is to promote excellence in arts management by linking the business expertise of the corporate community with non-profit arts and cultural organizations in the Valley. We do this by recruiting business professionals to serve as management consultants to art/cultural organizations. Technical/management consulting is provided in, but not limited to, these areas: strategic planning, marketing, graphic design, public relations, information technologies, board development, accounting, etc. BVA also provides arts marketing and management workshops to non-profit arts and cultural organizations throughout the state. National Endowment for the Arts Constituency: Arts organizations or organizations with arts service to the community, including arts education programs. Membership required: No The National Endowment for the Arts exists to foster, preserve, and promote excellence in the arts, to bring art to all Americans, and to provide leadership in arts education. Established by Congress in 1965 as an independent agency of the federal government, the Endowment is the nation's largest annual funder of the arts, bringing great art to all 50 states, including rural areas, inner cities, and military bases.
