Arts organizations that receive support through the Arizona Commission on the Arts' Basic Aid program provide information on services they are able to share.

Schools or community organizations can complement or expand their planned programs or exhibitions by taking advantage of these valuable artistic/educational resources including: artists that tour; docent-guided tours; youth and adult educational programs; group discounts; and more.   • Arizona Opera - Arizona Opera's educational mission is to provide innovative, engaging and imaginative music and theater experiences to encourage people of all cultural heritages, ages and abilities to explore fully the rich world of opera.   • Arizona Theatre Company - (Phoenix/Tucson) ATC’s Student Matinee Program offers school day performances for student audiences at greatly reduced rates. Class visits, theatre tours, and drama-based workshops are also available in both cities. The Wasserstein Project and Summer On Stage are open to select students. Internships and volunteer opportunities provide opportunities to explore the “business” side of the arts. Childsplay works with Arizona schools in three ways: -- Performances in schools around the state by one of our touring companies -- Field trips during the school day to fully-staged productions in the Phoenix, Tempe and Scottsdale -- Teaching residencies facilitated by Childsplay's professional actor-teachers, customized to curriculum and grade-level needs. Childsplay is committed to the integration of the arts and education.   • Phoenix Art Museum - The Museum opened in 1959 and is a private, non-profit arts institution. With 160,000 square feet, it is the largest visual arts museum in the Southwest. The Museum currently is planning an expansion expected to begin in 2004. In addition to its permanent collection of 17,000 objects, the Museum presents special exhibitions of painting, sculpture, photography, prints, and drawings, including national and international traveling exhibitions. The permanent collection includes European Art, American and Western Art, Asian Art, Modern and Contemporary Art, and Fashion Design. Phoenix Art Museum has a long-standing commitment to families and education through ongoing programs such as docent-guided tours in English and Spanish, in-gallery ArtStops, KidPacks that contain family activities, and outreach programs at schools and local senior centers. The Museum also features bilingual family programs such as monthly Family Sundays and Second Saturdays. In addition, every Thursday, general admission is free for all visitors and the Museum stays open until 9pm. Regular hours are Tuesday—Sunday 10am- 5pm.   • Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art - Founded in 1999, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art [SMoCA] is dedicated to collecting and exhibiting modern and contemporary art, architecture, and design. SMoCA offers a diverse range of educational programs for adults, families, and children and seeks to make the art of our time accessible for general audiences. Designed by acclaimed Arizona architect Will Bruder, SMoCA's building includes a sculpture court featuring James Carpenter's "Scrim Wall" and James Turrell's skyspace "Knight Rise." The Scottsdale Cultural Council, a private, nonprofit 501(C)(3)-management organization, administers the arts and cultural affairs of the City of Scottsdale, Arizona, and manages the Scottsdale Center for the Arts and the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.   • Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block - Founded in 1924 and located in the historic El Presidio District, the Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block maintains a permanent collection of more than 6000 works of art.
