Project grants are a tool to connect the work of artists and
community organizations and schools in a conscious and direct way. This
area of grantmaking provides a way to support community colleges,
non-arts organizations and community based organizations that are not
eligible for general operating support as well as arts-based (or
arts-centered) organizations. The emphasis on guest artists as the
cornerstone of this support provides an opportunity for new and creative
thought within organizations and helps bring people into the planning of
arts programs that are not typically involved, thereby broadening and
diversifying participation.
