Building an Artistic Future for Arizona 2010

In each of the last 33 years, the Arizona Commission on the Arts has hosted an annual Southwest Arts Conference – a convening of statewide arts administrators, artists, educators, advocates and volunteers – in locations across Arizona.
In 2010, the Arts Commission worked with several Arizona partners on a multi-pronged event, Building an Artistic Future for Arizona: 2010. As part of Building an Artistic Future for Arizona, three events took place over the course of two days, in two venues.

- The Joint Arts Education Conference was presented by the Arizona Department of Education and the Arizona Commission on the Arts, hosted by the Musical Instrument Museum in Northeast Phoenix.

- The Superintendent Candidates Forum was presented by the Arizona Alliance for Education and Arizona Citizens/Action for the Arts, hosted by the Musical Instrument Museum in Northeast Phoenix.
- The annual Southwest Arts Conference was presented by the Arizona Commission on the Arts in association with Alliance for Audience, hosted by the Chandler Center for the Arts in Historic Downtown Chandler.

The 33rd Annual Southwest Arts Conference

The 33rd annual Southwest Arts Conference (SWAC) is presented by the Arizona Commission on the Arts in association with Alliance for Audience and hosted by the Chandler Center for the Arts. SWAC is the only convening of the statewide arts community in Arizona, hosting arts educators, arts advocates, arts administrators, artists and arts enthusiasts. The conference offers practical and experiential learning sessions, opportunities for networking with peers and dynamic speakers representing state, regional and national arts organizations.
