As a part of Building an Artistic Future for Arizona, the 2010 Southwest Arts Conference featured workshops and sessions on topics related to:

  • The transformative and inspirational potential of the arts
  • Best practices for individuals and organizations
  • Understanding and honoring our unique local and cultural histories
  • New realities for arts education and the nonprofit arts sector, related to programming and fundraising, as well as opportunities to explore effective partnerships, innovative programming ideas and new funding models
  • The post-recession outlook for the arts industry, and ways to construct a brighter and more sustainable future, together

SWAC 2010 sessions were led by Arizona artists, arts educators, administrators and policymakers, as well as speakers representing regional and national arts organizations.

Conference sessions included intensive workshops, keynote addresses, experiential sessions, performances and networking opportunities.

Welcome to Chandler: Home of the 2010 Southwest Arts Conference

The 32nd Annual Southwest Arts Conference took place August 13 and 14, 2009 at the Carefree Resort and Villas.

SWAC 2009 featured keynote speaker Chris Jordan, speakers representing national and regional arts organizations, and numerous Arizona artists, arts educators and administrators.
